Our existing local nearshore rightholders that supply product are fishers from previously disadvantage communities throughout the Western Cape.
Full commercial suppliers are also from various communities throughout the Western Cape and we are proud to advise that as a result of Inkos Keta's sound and sincere reputation the supply base grows predominantly by means of word of mouth. Our suppliers have been well schooled in the correct handling of the Lobster from catching to delivery and the product arrives in excellent condition where the live product is placed in saltwater holding tanks. The ideal location of the factory allows for the utilization of fresh seawater which is pumped directly from the ocean to the tanks.
Further holding facilities at Hout Bay, Hermanus and Saldanha Bay are also utilised. For the past three seasons inkos Keta has been fortunate in being able to source product over and above that supplied by its contracted regular supplier due to the fact that a new sector within the industry was announced ie Interim Fisherman. Not only did this result in an increase in production but Inkosi Keta was able to offer job opportunity to a further four persons. Inkosi Keta is fortunate in that it holds a reputation to be envied in both quality and fair market practice.
